Opportunity:

Community Educator

Description

The Alzheimer’s Association is seeking Volunteer Community Educators to deliver education programs within the seven counties served by the Hudson Valley Chapter: Ulster, Dutchess, Orange, Sullivan, Putnam, Westchester and Rockland. We are requesting that our volunteers live within the seven counties as we are back to delivering in-person programs. At this time there is a mixture of programs in the community and virtual.

Alzheimer's Association Community Educators are volunteer public speakers who help raise awareness, provide education and expand the reach of Alzheimer's Association programs in the community. Community Educators deliver Alzheimer’s Association Core Curriculum using prepared training materials on topics related to Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias as well as information for individuals and families impacted by the disease.

Volunteers will enhance their knowledge of this worthy cause, sharpen their public speaking techniques, and serve their local communities by providing them with important information. We are looking for self-motivated individuals that are comfortable networking, collaborating with staff, volunteers and community partners, and reaching out to individuals and families in need and connecting them to the Alzheimer's Association.

We ask for a one year committment. We provide education programs at various times of day and throughout the week- we will work with your schedule to make this work for you. We will provide training, support and all the tools needed to be successful!
